The Core of the Site
Platonic dialogues, when correctly treated, are to be seen as philosophical dramas rather than doctrinal treatises. Philosophical ideas are dramatized. No guesswork is required. Passive note-taking has to be replaced by hard dialectical thinking.
The podcast series reflects a preliminary read-through of the dialogues before the fuller holistic analyses and presentations explaining each individual dialogue.
The analyses themselves are presented in the form of structural diagrams, short explanations, and fuller works.
Greek philosophy is not only about Plato, and the site will also include some of my work on other aspects of Greek philosophy. The two Jesuit articles and the edition of Antipater of Tarsus currently in the Studies section all concern Stoic philosophy.
